The Gold Coast Suns are expected to announce the signing of Brisbane Lions midfielder Michael Rischitelli, ending months of speculation.
A press conference has been called for 11am, at which the team's newest player will be confirmed.
The midfielder has been linked to the Suns this season, after becoming disgruntled with the Lions following the club's attempt to trade him last year.
Rischitelli is also favourite to win the Lions Best and Fairest award on Thursday night.
Meanwhile, Hawthorn defender Campbell Brown is reportedly yet to decide if he will take up a lucrative offer with the Suns.
Hawks football operations manager Mark Evans has told SEN the club is expecting an answer soon.
"I guess that once he gets over the first couple of days of this week and the latter part of this week, I guess he'll be in a position to make up his mind and let us know what he's going to do," Evans said.
"At the club, we just need to put our best foot forward, and it's up to Campbell and his management to assess the options from there."
"From Hawthorn Footy Club's point of view, we think that we've got a talented enough week to progress deeper into September than we have over the last couple of years. We'd be hopeful that Campbell would look at that opportunity that is available here, hopefully, and he could be a big part of that."
It was reported that Brown was put up for trade by the Hawks last year, and Evans believes the defender's true feelings will be expressed once he decides on his future.
"I'm sure out of his mouth you'll hear exactly what he thought of that situation. He's told me that didn't have any effect on him."
