Melbourne Storm coach Craig Bellamy says the only expectations he will have for his rebuilding club in 2011 relate to hard work from everyone involved.

Speaking just after the dust had just settled on the club's 2010 campaign, which was rendered virtually meaningless when the NRL ruled the Storm would play for no points in late April, Bellamy was unsure what next year will bring.

But one thing he said he is certain of is that the players still at the club and those still to arrive will continue to work as hard as previous squads have, along with the entire coaching staff.

"I don't know, I wouldn't have a clue actually to be quite honest, I haven't really thought too much about that," Bellamy said when asked for his expectations of 2011 soon after the 34-4, Round 26 win over the Knights on Sunday.

"We've got some new guys coming in and hopefully we've still got a couple of other spots left."

"So we'll get back in about eight weeks' time and start work."

"(But) there will be no expectations from me, there never is, the expectation on results or on where we finish or what we're going to do or how many games we're going to win."

"The expectation is everyone comes in and works hard."

"If they do that it will give us a chance to be as successful as we can be and that's all the expectation is (from me)."

"We just basically not quite start again, but we're going to be pretty close to it so it's going to take a lot of hard work from a lot of people."

Having had to deal with a lot over the past four months since the NRL's revelations of salary-cap cheating Bellamy worked hard to keep his emotions in check on what was obviously one of his most testing days.

But Bellamy, who addressed the playing group as a whole straight after the Knights game before refusing to divulge anything that was said, didn't allow the departures of so many club favourite sons to become a distraction ahead of Sunday's match.

"I mentioned it early in the week and then we had to put it aside," he added.

"I thought if we focused on that all week that would've drained us of some energy."

"It was all about our performance and I thought they played pretty well."
