Theo happy to Roar once more

Brisbane Roar goalkeeper Michael Theo has revealed lifestyle played a pivotal role in his decision to re-sign with the club for another four seasons.

Brisbane announced on Monday that Theo was one of six re-signings, including reigning Johnny Warren Medallist Thomas Broich.

And Theo said it ultimately wasn't hard to commit his long-term future to the back-to-back champions.

"I knew my next decision was a big one," he said.

"In saying that, both my wife and I thoroughly enjoy Brisbane and the lifestyle we have here.

"That was a very important factor for us - being happy on the pitch and off the pitch.

"From day one, I always wanted to stay in Brisbane and luckily for me, the club shared my vision of me being here long-term.

"On a personal note, I thrive on the environment we've created here over the past two years and from that perspective, it really was a no brainer to extend my stay."

Theo is the most decorated player in the history of the A-League, having won four championships (two each with Melbourne and Brisbane) and three premierships (two with Melbourne).

The three-time goalkeeper of the year has played 134 senior matches in the A-League and also played with South Melbourne and the Football Kingz in predecessor competition the NSL.

Theo also had stints in England with Norwich City and Blackpool.
