Bomber won't go
12.10PM  8-9-2010

By Kevin Bartlett

Geelong coach Mark Thompson cannot jump ship and coach the Bombers next year.

Patrick Smith writes in 'The Australian' today that senior observers say Essendon is aiming to employ its former premiership captain.

Bomber Thompson has always been strong on keeping the playing group together, and has publicly pleaded with Ablett to stay a Cat and reject any offers - and that he has more of a chance of winning a premiership at the Cattery than with the other mob offering money.

With those words, how could Thompson pull the pin and head to Windy HIll?

He's got more character than that.

Bomber will be at geelong next year, he has got some property investments which is looking a returning ten fold on his $400,000 investment. Bomber could not afford him, plus he will not be able to eat sandwiches though the home and away season. More chance of KB coaching the bombers!

Just for record Mark Thompson (Bomber Thompson) got the name "Bomber" because as a child he looked like Bomber the jungle man. A TV series

Completely wrong KB.....done his time at the Cats....they are now on the decline with Ablett likely to leave. Costa also finishing up. Would be perfect time for Thompson to take on a new challenge. Mark it down as a done deal....even more so if Cats somehow manage to win the flag....he has nothing else to achieve there and needs a new challenge.
