Victory's striker woes
12.19PM  28-7-2010

Peering through The Glass today I see some problems up front and in the front office of the Melbourne Victory.

With the season starting on August 5, the Victory has been unable to find a replacement striker for their marquee player Archie Thompson.

Pardon me? Didn’t Archie do his knee in March? Isn’t there another team in town that is trying to eat into their territory? Shouldn’t this have been the single most important signing of all?

I know that head office has said today that if it means another two weeks before finding the right player, then so be it. But what if two becomes four and then eight?

Good luck to Robbie Kruse and Mate Dugandzic who will spearhead the line-up until a signing, but the early season glass of the Victory looks Harf-empty.

I dont think it's just up front where the problem lies. The midfield was slow and uncreative.Victory play far too defensively, even when 2 nil down.

G - how many premierships, championships - or games - have Heart won!?!? Dont see alot of players leaving Victory disgruntled lately! They have brought thru 4 players currently listed from NYL. No point keeping future talent (over 20) on the list if they cant get a game.

The victory will come good. They always do.

Harf you have hit the nail on the head. Melb. Victory have no one to blame for this situation but themselves. They are full of themselves so Players Agents take their players elswhere as they don't like dealing with them. How many youth players playing for Australia are in the Victory squad? Compare that to the new Hearts team who have a handful already.
