Fainga'a hit with ban

Australian hooker Saia Fainga'a has been suspended for two weeks after being found guilty of a dangerous tackle during the Wallabies' thrilling win over South Africa on Saturday.

Fainga'a was cited by SANZAR citing commissioner Steve Hinds for an alleged tip tackle on Springbok replacement lock Flip van der Merwe in the 69th minute of the match in Bloemfontein.

Fainga'a pleaded guilty to the charge and will be banned from all rugby until September 19.

The 23-year-old will miss this Saturday's final Tri Nations clash against New Zealand in Sydney, but will be available for the Test in Hong Kong at the end of the month.
