Cerra "almost certain" to stay at Dockers says Gossage

2018-07-04T06:11+10:00

UPDATE

Tim Gossage has since reported Adam Cerra is likely to remain at Fremantle.

EARLIER

SEN Western Australian correspondent Tim Gossage believes promising Fremantle youngster Adam Cerra is already on the trade table despite only being drafted to the club last year.

Cerra is yet to commit his future to the Dockers with the 18-year-old’s contract set to expire at the end of the 2019 season.

If Freo are to improve their draft position they will need to give up something, and Gossage thinks Cerra and fellow midfielder Ed Langdon could both be sacrificed.

“Cerra’s an interesting one. He hasn’t signed his deal and wants to speak at the end of the year,” he told SEN Mornings.

“I think he’s on the table. I think they’ve got to try and improve their draft position, I think they’ve got pick six then they drop away to about 70.

“He is absolutely gettable.

“They’re going to have to give up some real young talent to get something.

“Cerra’s in the mix and I think Ed Langdon is in the mix, he certainly would be a gettable talent.

“I think Fremantle have to be incredibly active and there might be some big names to leave for the future of the footy club.”

Cerra was taken at pick 5 from the Eastern Rangers in last year’s draft and has impressed in his debut season, averaging 14 disposals and three tackles a game.
