Brisbane repaid for positive outlook: Rayner

2018-07-04T19:18+10:00

Brisbane youngster Cam Rayner has hailed the club’s resilience after recording their second win of the season over Fremantle by 55-points at Optus Stadium last Sunday.

The Lions have been more than competitive this year and would feel aggrieved not to have registered more wins for the effort they have put in.

Rayner, who was awarded the Round 15 Rising Star nomination after an impressive showing against the Dockers, says the group have maintained a positive outlook despite not getting the desired results.

“It was unreal, to knock off any team in WA is pretty hard,” he told SEN’s Time On.

“We were over the moon with that result and to obviously get the nomination was the cherry on top.

“It’s been a little bit frustrating (not winning more games), but the way we’ve kept up our morale throughout the whole year knowing that we’ve been playing good football.

“It’s just that we’re doing the little things wrong that are obviously resulting in loses.

“As soon as we can correct those mistakes we’ll start stringing together more wins. We did that on the weekend and it shows of much good footy we can play.”
