Aussie youngster Jake Fraser-McGurk has continued pressing his claims for T20 World Cup selection with another brilliant knock for Delhi in the IPL on Saturday night (AEST).

The opener finished with a ridiculous 84 runs off just 27 balls as his side claimed a 10-run win over the Mumbai Indians.

The Victorian native did his damage against superstar bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya as he notched six sixes to go with 11 fours.

The young gun said post-match that he was simply doing his job to get his team off to a flying start.

"That's my role – go out there and try and score as many in the first six (overs), and if I go on with it, I go on with it," he said.

"Trying to get the team off to a nice start, so it was good I was able to do that today."

Fraser-McGurk’s strike rate from the innings was an astonishing 311.11 with his half-century coming from just 15 balls.

It’s now Fraser-McGurk’s third score of above 50 from just five IPL games. He’s averaging 49.40 with the bat in the tournament at a strike rate of 237.50. He has hit 22 fours and 22 sixes from just 104 balls faced.
