Bring on Green in Perth: Mundine

2017-02-12T21:00+11:00

Anthony Mundine has declared he wants a third fight with Danny Green.

The two veterans squared off just over a week ago, with Mundine going down in a controversial points decision, but the former super-welterweight and middleweight world champion told SEN that he is “very serious” about a third bout and is prepared to do it in Green’s hometown at the same weight.

“I’ll fight him in Perth,” he said.

“I’ve been thinking long and hard about this. I want to beat him and whip and hurt him in his own back yard, in his own home in Perth,

“All his family can come, all his friends can come and witness him getting fried.

“Lets have a number three and then I’ll show you the real deal.

“I was gone for a year and half because I had major hip surgery.

“You’ve got to be active – he fought just four months ago against Kane Watts here in Melbourne,

“Now I’ve got the cobwebs out, I just make a couple of little adjustments, I will destroy him man – he ain’t on my level.”

Mundine said that in his mind he won last week’s fight and that all Green wanted to do was ‘hit and hold’.

“90 per cent of the people that know boxing know that I won the fight,” he said.

“Even his fans were coming up to me after the fight saying that I won the fight, that, ‘I’m a Green fan, but you won the fight’.

“I’m not talking about one or two people; I’m talking about everyone that I run into.”

The ex-Rugby League star said that with the right referee in charge, he would show who the better boxer is.

“I’m too skilful for him on the inside, I’m too skilful for him on the outside, I’m too skilful him period,” he proclaimed.
