• The AFL and the umpires are concerned about some of the injuries and that can be contributed to the bounce
• It’s about trying to keep them performing at their best every week – we lose them to rehab and injury
• It also goes down to community level – the umpires will be able to come through the ranks quicker if they don’t have to bounce
• It’s not often we’ve drop an umpire because of their bounce – it just gets to stage where some umpires continually have to take the bounce
• It comes at the detriment of others
• It’s more a discussion than anything else at the moment
