Have you ever seen a soccer player scoff a pie mid-match? Well you have now.
Sutton United’s larger-than-life back-up goalkeeper Wayne Shaw has been pictured hoeing into a piping hot pie during the second half of his team’s fifth-round FA Cup clash with premier league giants, Arsenal.
Prior to the match, which the Gunners won 2-0, Shaw had been pictured on the front of bottles of chilli sauce – Roly-Poly Goalie Chilli Sauce – an idea that he came up with at the pub.
This led an English bookmaker to offer odds of 8/1 that the 45-year-old would eat a pie live on air.
Not only did Shaw make those odds seem overly generous, he reportedly visited the club’s bar at half-time.
