KB's Take | Collingwood's list isn't up to it

2017-04-26T10:00+10:00

The knives are out for Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley after yesterday’s loss to Essendon.

The coach is again the main talking point.

For starters it doesn’t look to me as if Buckley has lost his players, for in every game this year they have been competitive and in a position to win all their games.

The Pies have lost by margins 14, 19, 14 and 18 points and won their only game against Sydney by one point.

They have never thrown in the sponge.

One of the problems for the Pies is they talk up their chances too much, which sets unrealistic goals amongst supporters and fans.

There is always hype surrounding Collingwood, but they have not played finals for the past three years.

And not too many experts had them in their top eight.

The Collingwood forward line is a problem, it’s not strong.

In key positions they are really struggling.

For Darcy Moore is a kid when it comes to carrying an attack and Mason Cox is at best a project player learning on the job in the seniors.

And the forward-line's accuracy is running at 50 per cent – that is a confidence destroyer.

Is Buckley coaching poorly or is the list and side out on the park simply not good enough?

I think it’s the latter.

I’m KB, that’s my take.
