Juventus have reached the Champions League final for the second time in three seasons, following a 2-1 second leg victory over Monaco.

The Italian giants were led by a superb performance from Brazilian defender Dani Alves, who set up Mario Mandzukic for the opening goal, before scoring a cracking volley to seal the victory.

Juventus came into the game as strong favourites, following a 2-0 victory first leg victory in Monaco last week.

It took 44 minutes for Juve to open the scoring through Mandzukic, while Monaco were left stunned 10 minutes later, when Alves blasted the ball into the net to seal the victory.

Juventus’ defence have not conceded an open play goal in 12 Champions League matches this season, but the frugal defence was opened up by Monaco teen sensation Kylian Mbappe.

The 18-year-old became the youngest ever player to score in the current format of the Champions League semi-final. Mbappe has now scored six goals in the Champions League this season and has lived up to the hype, having been labelled as one of the hottest young players in the world.

Juventus will now be aiming to win their first Champions League title in 21 years, when it defeated Ajax.

Since then, tey have lost four deciders, with the most recent being a 3-1 defeat to Barcelona in 2015.

39-year-old goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is set to play in his fourth final and will be hoping that he can finally get his hands on the one piece of silverware that has eluded him thus far.

Juventus will now face either Real Madrid or Atletico MadriD in Cardiff on June 4.
