"He threw me under the bus" says Dunn

2017-06-09T11:58+10:00

Collingwood recruit Lynden Dunn admits this week has been one of the strangest of his career as he prepares to tackle former side Melbourne in Monday’s Queen’s Birthday blockbuster.

Dunn’s name was thrust into the spotlight by teammate Taylor Adams after he suggested Dunn was relishing playing at a successful club.

Dunn joined the Magpies this year after 165 games and 11 years at the Demons.

The news Dunn was happy to be at a successful club was questioned by former teammate Bernie Vince, who sarcastically questioned the relative success of the Magpies.

Dunn admitted his conversation with Adams post his comments was a strange one.

“I just shook his hand and thanked him for throwing me under the bus,” he said on SEN Breakfast.

“It’s been a strange week because I actually haven’t said a word.

“I’ve got Taylor (Adams) and Bernie (Vince) to thank for that.

“I’m definitely happier being at the Pies but I’m not sure I would have explained my time at the Dees the way Taylor did.”

Dunn joked Vince should tag Adams on Monday and fans could sit back and enjoy the fireworks.

He’s also expecting plenty of lip from Vince and the remainder of his former teammates, but said it was a challenge he was looking forward to.

After languishing in the VFL in the opening five weeks, the veteran defender has progressed well as part of a Magpie back six that is looking for its fourth consecutive victory.

Dunn said had had past on what information he could about his former side but doubted the impact of such intel on the result.

“Everyone sort of knows everyone but I have given the guys a little bit of information,” he said.

“But I reckon it’ll be more about what we do than what they do.”

The Magpies have lost the past three matches against the Demons by an average of 39 points.
