Derm's mid-year All-Australian forwards and interchange

2017-06-19T17:10+10:00

Hawthorn legend Dermott Brereton has unveiled the forward-line and interchange bench of his Mid-Year All-Australian side.

Over the past few weeks, the five-time premiership player has gradually named his All-Australian side to the halfway mark of the season.

Today, Brereton concludes his team by naming his forwards and interchange players including a star Lion, a host of Giants and a ball-winning new recruit.

DERMOTT BRERETON’S ALL AUSTRALIAN FORWARD LINE

Dayne Zorko (Brisbane)

Lance Franklin (Sydney)

Toby Greene (GWS Giants)

Jeremy Cameron (GWS Giants)

Josh Kennedy (West Coast)

Eddie Betts (Adelaide)

“Jeremy Cameron and Lance Franklin are big, oversized flankers. They’re not huge contested marks (so) the one who was stiff to miss out with my calculations is big Charlie Dixon," said Derm.

"He’s been fantastic I reckon. Port Adelaide are kicking great scores and he is the lynchpin of that forward line, whether he kicks them or not.

“Jeffy Garlett was stiff as a small forward. It was between him, Betts and Zorko I would think.”

DERMOTT BRERETON’S ALL AUSTRALIAN INTERCHANGE

Tom Mitchell (Hawthorn)

Rory Laird (Adelaide)

Dylan Shiel (GWS Giants)

“He is number two in the comp for centre bounce clearances… I still think he is (the Giants’) most devastating midfielder.”

Tom Lynch (Gold Coast)

Derm's side:

B: E.Yeo, M.Hurley, J.Harbrow
HB: D.Roberton, A.Rance, S.Docherty
C: S.Pendlebury, D.Martin, R.Sloane
HF: D.Zorko, L.Franklin, T.Greene
F: J.Cameron, J.Kennedy, E.Betts
Foll: S.Mumford, J.Selwood, P.Dangerfield
INT: T.Mitchell, R.Laird, D.Shiel, T.Lynch
