You weak **** : The exchange that riled Oliver

2017-07-10T09:00+10:00

Melbourne on baller Clayton Oliver was on the receiving end of a four lettered expletive by a Carlton supporter during yesterday’s clash at the MCG, according to SEN’s Sam McClure.

Oliver and the fan exchanged heated words in an ugly incident during the second quarter, with the 19 year-old’s integrity also called into question due to the recent incident involving West Coast’s Will Schofield.

“The fan who clearly said something first called Oliver a four letter profanity with the word “weak” in front of it. He also called him a diver, which clearly refers to a couple of incidents with Will Schofield being the main one,” McClure revealed on SEN Breakfast.

“Clearly Oliver was not happy with that and went back at the fan. We’re not exactly sure what was said the other way.

“Carlton have also confirmed this morning that they will contact the patron involved. They are unsure if he is a member but they are looking into that.

“Clearly it will come out in the wash exactly what was said but both clubs who I have spoken to are not happy with the look of the incident.”

Former St Kilda and North Melbourne on baller Nick Dal Santo advised Oliver to ignore the abuse in the future.

“I would say take it as a learning experience and don’t even go there in regards to Oliver,” he said.

“You cop stuff all the time, a lot of the times you can’t hear it because it’s a bit of blurred collective noise from the crowd.

“Unless its racist, just cop your right whack and move on, there is nothing you can do about it and there is nothing positive that can come from it, what he (Oliver) could possibly do that will make that situation any better.”

The AFL has confirmed to SEN this morning that they are investigating and are awaiting a security report from the MCG.
