KB's Take | Martin won’t leave Richmond

2017-07-21T09:25+10:00

Why would Dustin Martin or Josh Kelly want to leave their clubs and join North Melbourne?

The Herald Sun tells us the Kangaroos are cashed up with 15 million bucks to throw at the two midfield stars with long term contracts.

Martin won’t leave Richmond.

He will get a great deal from the club and a few extra dollars won’t prize out a happy player and all reports are that he loves being a Tiger player.

For Martin is comfortable at the club and is held in high regard and respected by fellow players, coaches and staff.

And Richmond looks like playing finals this year and into the future.

As for Kelly, he has a chance to be involved in something very special. The first ever premiership side for the Giants and the possibility of multiple flags in the future.

At 22 years of age, he has plenty of time to soak up the Giants success and earn a small fortune with Greater Western Sydney before ever contemplating coming home to Melbourne.

This looks to me to be a year of speculation.

Nat Fyfe was off somewhere only to re-sign with the Dockers. And Steven May was gettable only to stay with the Suns.

I think all this talk of Kelly and Martin will turn out to be hot air.

I’m KB, that’s my take.
