Mike Sheahan names, shames and slams Giants

2017-07-24T08:16+10:00

Mike Sheahan has unleashed a savaging attack on veteran GWS players, after their 19-point loss to Richmond on Sunday.

The Giants led by 20-points at quarter time, but kicked just three goals for the reminder of the match, causing many to question their premiership hopes. According to the former Chief Football Writer of the Herald Sun, the issues are highlighted by GWS’ elder statesmen.

“These blokes are in massive trouble,” Sheahan said of the Giants on SEN Breakfast.

“Steve Johnson, Heath Shaw and Shane Mumford. Mumford’s reputation has carried him through this part of the season. He is nowhere near the player he was a couple years ago.

“It isn’t the Shaw that we have seen and he can’t find the footy.”

Sheahan also believes GWS bad boy Toby Greene reminds him of Phil Carman, as the young Giant was reported for striking Alex Rance yesterday.

“Toby Greene is out of control,” he said.

“He is going around banging blokes and inviting trouble. I would say to Toby, I’m going to drop you. I’ll make an example of you. You can cuddle him as much as you like. He is no different now with his attitude than he was a few years ago.”
