David Zaharakis’s manager has provided an update on his contract situation with Essendon.
Zaharakis remains out of contract at the end of this season, but his manager Scott Lucas says Bombers fans have little to worry about.
“We have been working with the Bombers for a while…we are not a long way away, we have had good discussions with them,” Lucas said on SEN’s The Run Home.
“No [Essendon fans have nothing to worry about]. There’s always a bit to work through with any player.”
Zaharakis was a class above on the weekend against Gold Coast, collecting 38 disposals, 721 metres gained, 11 score involvements, 10 contested possessions and five clearances, piecing together the quintessential performance for a midfielder.
Since Round 15, Zaharakis has been a ball magnet, amassing 38, 32, 27, 32, 33, 26 and 38 disposals, becoming a key cog in the Essendon’s engine room.
