Although Lions young gun Josh Schache signed a contract extension until 2019, it doesn’t mean he can’t be traded according to AFL legend Kevin Bartlett.
Since re-signing with the club, he kicked just three goals from four games, before being dropped back to the NEAFL for the second time this year.
“There are Victorian clubs still interested in him. Bulldogs are in the mix. Collingwood, North Melbourne and Hawthorn are interested too,” he said on SEN’s Hungry for Sport.
When Bartlett was asked if he would be happy to see the former number two draft pick in yellow and black, his answer was clear.
“No. I’m not sold. Josh Schache hasn’t shown me anything to get me excited about him. Schache doesn’t have any urgency. Hipwood on the other hand, I see him running around and chasing when he doesn’t have the footy.”
Schache will miss the NEAFL Grand Final for Brisbane’s reserves this weekend due to mental fatigue, which has again raised the issue of a possible trade.
