KB's Take | Make the Crows pick a new guernsey!

2017-09-20T09:25+10:00

I should be home in bed after being whacked by the dreaded flu.

But I had to climb out of my sick bed because I couldn’t believe AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan on AFL 360 saying there is a definite clash jumper between Richmond and Adelaide if they make it through to the Grand Final – and one would have to change.

Now when Collingwood’s clash jumper is white with black vertical stripes and that ticks all boxes as opposed to black with white vertical stripes then it’s obvious jumper clashes are a complete furphy.

Gil talks about a coin toss to decide who would wear their traditional jumper in a Grand Final.

Hang on...let’s not forget that Adelaide is a johnny-come-lately to the competition.

The Tigers had been playing in the VFL/AFL competition for 83 years before the Crows even played a game.

If Adelaide wanted to design a colour scheme and jumper design that clashes with long standing clubs then that’s their problem, not Richmond’s.

Clearly, there is no jumper clash between the Crows and the Tigers.

But if the AFL is going to force their hand then they’ve got to tell the Adelaide Crows they have to pick a jumper that in their mind doesn’t clash with the famous Richmond traditional black jumper yellow sash.

It’s as simple as that.

I’m KB, that’s my take.
