What are these speed machines worth?

Terry Wallace says West Coast wingman Andrew Gaff would be the perfect recruit for the St Kilda, as they look to make the next step into the top eight.

The 25-year-old is a restricted free agent at the end of 2018, but there has been murmurings of Victorian clubs showing interest to bring him home.

The former Richmond and Western Bulldogs coach believes if the right opportunity arises the 156-gamer may decide to head home, and is worth handing over a first round pick for.

“I think if there was the right opportunity (to come home) that would perhaps be an option,” Wallace said on SEN's Hungry for Sport.

“He’s still contracted so it’s no guarantee it would play out, but if the opportunity presented I don’t think it would be the worst thing that could possibly happen.

“I think he suits them perfectly. It’s that outside run and carry…a hard runner who supports your defensive end of the ground because he is such a hard worker, like Tom Scully.

“To me he’s a first round pick, I don’t think there’s any doubt about that.”

Another speedster the Saints may be interested in recruiting is classy Gold Coast midfielder Aaron Hall.

The 26-year-old Tasmanian has shown flashes of brilliance during his career at the Suns and has kicked 75 goals in 97 games, but has also received criticism for his lack of two-way running.

Wallace feels he would be worth a second round pick, due to his lack of consistency.

“He’s more of an interesting one because he’s been hot and cold. The best of Aaron Hall is outstanding,” he said.

“I’m not saying Aaron Hall is leaving, but I think he’s more of a second round pick for me because his best is excellent, but he has dropped off on occasions and there are his questions on his defensive actions as well.”
