Magpies finally land their new chief

2017-11-23T16:45+11:00

Collingwood’s long search for a new chief executive is over with the appointment of Swimming Australia boss Mark Anderson.

The Magpies had been on the lookout for a new boss since the departure of Gary Pert in July, after 10 years in the role.

Anderson has been at the helm of Swimming Australia for the past four years having previously occupied roles at Hockey Australia and prior to that, Essendon, as chief commercial officer.

Former AFL football operations manager Simon Lethlean, who had been heavily linked with both Collingwood and Carlton, has been overlooked again.

Anderson will take over at the Magpies at the end of the Commonwealth Games selection trials in February next year.
