Three-time Essendon premiership player Tim Watson has named the unheralded Bomber he wants to see moved positions in 2018.
Kyle Langford, who has yet to cement his spot in Essendon’s line-up over his three-year career, should be experimented with, according to the former Dons skipper.
“He has been played as a forward and he has been played as a midfielder at different times,” Watson told SEN Breakfast.
“I would like to see him trialled as a defender, as a third tall down back. Even if it was just for the opportunity to give him a little bit more understanding about the game, I think he is someone who could be developed as a defender.”

The 193-centimetre utility played just six senior games in 2017, after failing to make his presence known in the forward line across the season’s opening four contests.
However, Langford starred in the VFL as a midfielder, but has yet to receive that opportunity at AFL level on a consistent basis.
He will be hoping to advance his development in 2018, as he stagnated last season after showing glimpses of his talent in 2016.
