In a five-part series, we take a look back at the best five wins by one of Australia's greatest ever racehorses, the undefeated, the unstoppable, the great, Black Caviar.
A winner of all 25 of her starts – including 15 at Group One level – Black Caviar is undoubtedly one of the all-time greats of the Australian turf.
She was named the Australian Champion Racehorse of the Year in 2010/11, 2011/12 and 2012/13, but which five wins were her best?
We take a look...
4. Darley T.J. Smith Stakes (G1)
Distance: 1200m
Track: Randwick
Date: 13/4/13
Weight: 56.5kg
Placings: 2nd - Epaulette, 3rd - Bel Sprinter, 4th - Rain Affair
Time: 1:09.65
Margin: 3.0 lengths
The champion mare's final start – and her final win – ranks up there with her very best. The three length triumph broke a long-standing record held by Kingston Town for most Group One wins.
"Twenty-five straight (wins), unbelievable, 15 Group Ones. What more do you say?" Moody said.
"Horses look fast until they line up against her.''
Moody's thoughts were echoed by jockey Luke Nolen post-race: "Awesome. I don't have a broad enough vocabulary to truly honour this mare. I have to go to the dictionary sometimes to find out what the superlatives that everyone else use about her mean. She is just so special," he said.
