2018-04-26T15:30+10:00

Round 6 is already upon us and there are some team whispers floating around ahead of the teams dropping at 6:25pm AEST.

Tune into The Match Committee with Terry Wallace and Sam McClure from 6pm.

Kreuzer & Weitering to miss, Kennedy & Marchbank available

Carlton ruckman Matthew Kreuzer will miss tomorrow night’s clash with the Western Bulldogs.
Kreuzer has recovered from the groin injury that kept him out of last weekend's loss to West Coast but a lack of training will see him miss again.
Blues coach Brendon Bolton said: "He's feeling pretty good this week, but we just need more training into him, so he'll miss."
Jacob Weitering will also be sidelined with a corked thigh.
However, Carlton could welcome back midfielder Matthew Kennedy and defender Caleb Marchbank who have recovered from ankle injuries.

Dahlhaus likely to miss, Hunter back from suspension

The Bulldogs will welcome Lachie Hunter back into the fold after he missed last week’s loss to Fremantle because of suspension.
Bailey Williams is also back in the mix after an ear infection.
Luke Dahlhaus is set to miss out due to a knee concern.
Coach Luke Beveridge has also given the chance of a return to Hayden Crozier who has missed the past four weeks with a knee.

No Franklin, Hannebery for trip to Cattery

Sydney will be without star forward Lance Franklin and midfielder Dan Hannebery for their trip to Geelong. Buddy has been nursing a bruised heel since the opening round and Hannebery is battling a groin injury.
The Swans won by 46 points at the Cattery last year. Buddy had little impact in the Round 20 clash while Hannebery snared two Brownlow votes for his 21-disposal, 2-goal game.

One forward in, one out at Geelong

Tom Hawkins is likely to play against the Swans after he was a late withdrawal against Port Adelaide with back spasms.
In-form small forward Dan Menzel, who has kicked 15 goals this season, is out with a groin injury which coach Chris Scott insists is not serious.
Joel Selwood is free to play after a successful appeal at the tribunal while brother Scott must pass a fitness test following concussion.
Gary Ablett (hamstring) is still a week away.

Hartlett struck down for Power

Port Adelaide reported some bad news this afternoon in the form of an ACL injury to Hamish Hartlett.
The experienced defender injured his knee in a routine training drill and faces ‘an extended break from football’.
A Power statement read: ‘Hartlett will have scans to confirm the extent of the injury. The club will communicate the results when known.’

Kelly a good chance to return for GWS

The GWS Giants may have classy midfielder Josh Kelly back for their meeting with Brisbane.
Kelly’s groin has kept him out of the past two matches and despite missing training on Tuesday, will be given every chance to prove his fitness.
Similarly, ruckman Rory Lobb (knee) will play if fit but GWS are yet to give an update on the pair.

Burgoyne in the mix at Hawthorn

Hawks veteran Shaun Burgoyne is a chance to play against St Kilda in Tasmania.
The 35-year-old suffered a hamstring injury on Easter Monday (Round 2) but is ‘set to be a likely inclusion against the Saints’ according to a Hawthorn update.
Bad boy defender James Sicily misses a week because of suspension which could prompt a return for Kaiden Brand.

Rory Sloane and Matt Crouch face fitness tests

Adelaide midfield pair Rory Sloane and Matt Crouch will undergo fitness tests ahead of Saturday night’s encounter with Gold Coast.
Sloane missed last week’s stirring win over Sydney with a foot issue while reigning B&F winner Crouch has been sidelined for three weeks with a hamstring.
Curtly Hampton (adductor) will also have a fitness test while David Mackay (concussion) and Lachlan Murphy (hamstring) are available for selection.

Fantasia likely to get up for Sunday

Essendon small forward Orazio Fantasia is expected to return against Melbourne on Sunday following minor knee surgery.
According to coach John Worsfold, Fantasia is a chance to play after being close to returning in yesterday’s Anzac Day clash with Collingwood.
Unfortunately for the Bombers, Josh Begley has torn his ACL and will miss the remainder of the 2018 season.

Selection headaches for Hardwick

Richmond coach Damien Hardwick faces a tough night at the selection table with three premiership stars ready to return.
Nick Vlastuin, Josh Caddy and Jack Graham are all available for Sunday’s massive clash with the Magpies.
Vlastuin and Caddy missed Tuesday night’s win over Melbourne with calf and hamstring issues respectively. Graham was sidelined due to suspension.
It’s a tough call for the coach of the reigning premiers who saw Nathan Broad, Sam Lloyd and Jack Higgins all impress on Anzac Day Eve.

Adams fighting to be fit for Richmond

Collingwood could be boosted by the return of important midfielder Taylor Adams.
Adams has missed the last two weeks with a hamstring injury but said on AFL Nation’s pre-game show yesterday: "They're (Collingwood medical team) saying I’m no chance but I reckon the way I trained today they will be pretty pleased."
Last week, Pies GM of Football Geoff Walsh indicated that there is a possibility hamstrung trio Jamie Elliott, Darcy Moore and Josh Smith could also resume against the Tigers.
