“Imperative” that Lyon speaks: Sheahan

2018-05-11T08:38+10:00

Legendary football journalist Mike Sheahan says the time is now for Ross Lyon to open up about the two alleged incidents involving him.

The Herald Sun has reported the Dockers have referred a second complaint to the AFL’s integrity unit, about an alleged altercation involving Lyon at a Fremantle bar.

It is a separate incident to the one involving a former junior Dockers staff member who alleges Lyon harassed her at a club function years ago.

The Fremantle coach has yet to provide any clarity on the situations, and Sheahan thinks Lyon has to speak sooner rather than later.

EDMUND: SUMICH POTENTIAL LYON REPLACEMENT

“Yes I do,” he told SEN Breakfast, when asked if he thinks Lyon needs to talk.

“I thought he needed to talk all the way through.

“The defence that Freo and the AFL have taken is there are three women on the Fremantle board and they wouldn’t have tolerated unsavoury behaviour.

“I think that they were wrong in the first instance about trying to keep it quiet and they’re certainly now under fierce pressure to come clean and say, this is what’s happened.

“It is imperative now that they come clean and explain the situation.”

The Dockers battle St Kilda this Saturday night, and you can hear the game live on 1116 SEN from 8:00pm with Tim Gossage, Mark Doran and Paul Hasleby.
