Numerous clubs interested in Moore says manager

2018-05-15T08:29+10:00

Darcy Moore’s manager Liam Pickering has declared there are a number of clubs interested in the services of the out of contract Collingwood forward Darcy Moore.

It was reported on The Footy Show last week that the Sydney Swans have made Moore their 2018 target, an interest Pickering didn’t decline.

“There is a heap of clubs interested in him outside of Collingwood,” he told SEN Breakfast.

“I’ve been discussing it with Collingwood, I caught up with (list manager) Ned Guy on Friday.

“They’ve got some interest, but they’re not the only club.

“There are a number of clubs who have rang me about Darcy because he is out of contract.

“I’ve had discussions with a number of clubs. I’m not disputing the fact that the Swans have got interest in him, they have.

“There is some interest in there (Sydney), but I think there is some interest from a number of clubs.

“He’s a Melbourne boy. His old man played for Collingwood.

“There’s certainly no issues at Collingwood.”

Pickering also said he has yet to chat to Moore about his injured hamstring, but he watered down suggestions he was pushed too hardly in the early parts of the season.

“He missed a bit of footy in the preseason with a bit of a heel or achilles problem at the time,” he said.

“There is a lot of focus on Round 1. Do I think he wasn’t right to go? No I don’t, I think he was right to go.

“I had a good chat with his Dad yesterday, I’m going to give him another day or so.

“He is very disappointed, he has played one and a half games this season and it’s coming up to Round 9. I will have a good chat with him in the next 24 hours.”
