Blues brothers free to play after escaping suspensions

2018-05-15T18:31+10:00

Carlton brothers Ed and Charlie Curnow have both avoided suspensions at the AFL tribunal tonight.

The Curnow’s were both sent straight to the tribunal after making contact with umpires over the weekend but have escaped with $1000 fines each.

Charlie pleaded not guilty to the charge and convinced the tribunal jury that he made careless, rather than intentional contact with umpire Matt Stevic during Saturday’s win over Essendon.

It was also the same for Ed who successfully convinced the jury that he made careless contact with umpire Nathan Williamson that happened only minutes before Charlie’s incident.

The news comes as a huge boost for the Blues who take on Melbourne at the MCG this Sunday.
