Some big names are expected to return as we look forward to an intriguing selection of Round 10 fixtures.

Wells rested, Reid to return
Nathan Buckley has confirmed that Daniel Wells will be rested after just two games back at AFL level. The Magpies are keen to manage the classy veteran who has a history of soft tissue problems.
Ben Reid is set to return to replace the unlucky Alex Fasolo who will miss at least six weeks with the ankle syndesmosis problem he suffered in Round 9.
Levi Greenwood could be set for a call-up quite possibly to keep an eye on Bulldogs ball magnet Jack Macrae. Brayden Maynard is also in the mix.
Schache a Bulldogs consideration
Luke Beveridge says he will "definitely consider" a Western Bulldogs debut for young forward Josh Schache who has kicked nine goals in his past three VFL matches.
Fellow forward Tory Dickson is also in calculations despite having not played at AFL level since Round 5.
Defender Marcus Adams returned through the VFL last week but isn't quite ready to take the step up.
Veteran defender Dale Morris faces a fitness test to again play VFL having pulled up sore from his return from a partially torn ACL.
Welcome return for Carlisle, Weller concussed
St Kilda are very likely to have key defender Jake Carlisle back in action against Richmond. He passed preliminary concussion tests earlier this week and will play if he gets through training unscathed.
It's a similar story for promising forward Paddy McCartin but the Saints may be more cautious given his head-injury history.
However, Mav Weller has been ruled out after suffering concussion at training caused by an accidental head knock.
All clear for Swans speedster
Sydney defender Zak Jones will play against Brisbane after he was cleared following a head knock. The Swans are cautious but he is expected to take his place in the side. The incident occurred in the final quarter against Fremantle.
Youngster Lewis Melican will be back "this week or next" according to head of football Tom Harley. Melican has not played since Round 3 because of hamstring worries.
Sav returns as Cats unearth 5th debutant in 2018
Geelong will welcome the athletic Esava Ratugolea back for their home clash with Carlton. 'Sav' was managed for last week's loss to Essendon but will return.
Tough-tackling midfielder Scott Selwood will not play due to a back concern, and Lachie Fogarty will miss again with groin soreness.
Coach Chris Scott has confirmed that small forward Jamaine Jones will debut for the Cats, making it five new faces this season, while Brandan Parfitt "is really close" to returning from a foot problem.
Curnow still in doubt
Charlie Curnow remains in doubt for the Blues. The young gun has a quad issue and will be given a fitness test prior to Saturday.
Captain Marc Murphy will be monitored after seemingly suffering a recurrence of his troublesome foot injury.
Giants get co-skipper back
Phil Davis is expected to return for GWS' home meeting with Essendon after missing last week with concussion.
Star midfielder Josh Kelly will again be given every chance to prove his fitness as he strives to get back from the groin problem that has kept him sidelined since Round 3.
Dons duo touch and go
Essendon could get Andrew McGrath back as he has recovered from a calf strain but key defender Michael Hurley is still in doubt with his hamstring strain.
Darcy Parish has "put his hand up for selection", in the words of John Worsfold, after dominating in the VFL last week.
Forgotten ruckman set for timely return
After being sidelined for 18 months due to an ACL injury, ruckman Jonathon Ceglar is a chance to make his long awaited return against West Coast on Sunday.
Ceglar has strung together a trio of solid performances in the VFL and looks likely to be included to deal with the Eagles’ towering ruck duo of Nic Naitanui and Scott Lycett.
James Frawley (shoulder) and Jaeger O’Meara (corked calf) looked to have recovered from their ailments and should take their respective places in Alastair Clarkson’s 22.
Two gun Eagles in doubt
The table-topping Eagles could be without two key players for Sunday’s match against the Hawks.
Luke Shuey (hamstring) and Elliot Yeo (knee) were given a 50-50 chance to play by coach Adam Simpson. Yeo injured his knee during the first quarter of last week’s win over Richmond, but returned to play out the remainder of the contest.
Shuey has missed the last two games with his hamstring strain but is making good progress in his recovery.
McDonald suffers major injury scare
Melbourne were dealt a major scare at training today when gun swing-man Tom McDonald left the track early after feeling soreness in his troublesome foot.
McDonald was sent for scans but Dees coach Simon Goodwin admits it’s a concern but remains “confident” he will get up for the match against Adelaide on Sunday in Darwin.
Crows midfield stocks could be boosted
Crows high performance manager Matt Hass revealed that gun midfielder Matt Crouch is in contention to return for Sunday’s clash with Melbourne in the Top End.
Crouch missed last week’s game against the Western Bulldogs with hamstring soreness but he has trained strongly this week and is a chance to be recalled. Luke Brown (adductor) and Wayne Milera (hamstring) also face fitness tests.
Two key Dockers in the mix
Stephen Hill and Joe Hamling both face fitness tests to see whether they can feature in Sunday’s big game against the in-form North Melbourne at Optus Stadium.
Hill has missed the last two games with a quad injury but high performance manager Jason Weber says “the clinical signs are very good.” Hamling missed the second half of last week’s match against Sydney through concussion with the club “hopeful” the defender can take his place.
Davies-Uniacke in line for a recall?
A trio of North Melbourne youngsters are in the mix after strong performances at VFL level. Roos coach Brad Scott indicated Ben McKay, Sam Durdin and Luke Davies-Uniacke are all a chance to return for Sunday’s clash against the Dockers.
