Sydney Swans youngster Callum Mills has been ruled out for the rest of the season after breaking his foot in a freak incident following today’s training session.
Mills and some of his teammates were throwing a gridiron ball on the way back from a café when the young star tripped and fell on his foot.
Scans confirmed the worst possible news for the Swans.
Coach John Longmire said Mills will undergo surgery early next week.
“It was a really unfortunate accident and unfortunately Callum has an operation on Monday and will be out for the rest of the year – it’s a bad break,” Longmire told Sydney’s official website.
“It’s something out of the blue and clearly very disappointing for him and us.”
