Anstey in awe of “incredible” LeBron

2018-05-28T14:10+10:00

Australian basketball legend Chris Anstey has praised LeBron James’ amazing Game 7 performance, as he qualified for his eighth straight NBA Finals after Cleveland’s 87-79 victory over Boston.

James recorded 35 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists in the win, as the Cavs inflicted the Celtics with their first home loss of the playoffs.

Anstey was in awe of James’ efforts, saying it was a mighty game from one of the league’s all-time greats.

“He is incredible, an incredible performance,” he told SEN Afternoons.

“You have the best player in the world right now doing it with as thin a support crew as he has probably ever had.

“He played every second of the game, put the team on his back, and was just absolutely incredible in his willingness to do whatever it took to get Cleveland back to the NBA Finals.

“It’s going to continually fuel the fire of him becoming the best player of all time, but let’s not get drawn into that.

“Let’s just enjoy him being the best player on the planet right now, dragging his team back to the NBA Finals and doing it in a way that reminded us that he is a man amongst boys.”

The NBA Finals begin on Friday, and the Cavs will discover their opponent after tomorrow’s Game 7 in the Western Conference Finals between Houston and Golden State.
