Why Watson is “looking forward” to Swans Blues clash

2018-06-01T06:48+10:00

Former Essendon captain Tim Watson has admitted he is “looking forward” to tonight’s Sydney v Carlton clash, despite the contest looming as a major mismatch on paper.

The Swans, who sit fourth on the ladder, are heavy favourites against the last-placed Blues, but a positional switch to one of Brendon Bolton’s youngsters has Watson intrigued.

“Jack Silvagni playing in the midfield…this is a good thing about the Friday night game,” he told SEN Breakfast.

“I’m actually really looking forward to seeing what Jack Silvagni can produce in the midfield tonight.”

Can Jack Silvagni revive his season as a midfielder? Find out tonight when Carlton battles Sydney, and you can listen to the game live on 1116 SEN from 6:00pm AEDT with Anthony Hudson, Jack Heverin, Danny Frawley and Nick Dal Santo

Silvagni hasn’t played in the seniors since Round 6, after struggling to establish himself as a forward.

However, he has since occupied a midfield spot in the VFL, impressing as an interior player.

Against Williamstown three weeks ago, Silvagni amassed 20 possessions, eight clearances, six tackles and three goals, which highlighted his potential as a midfielder.
