Fagan provides hamstring update

2018-06-12T08:02+10:00

Brisbane Lions coach Chris Fagan is hoping his hamstring injury isn’t as bad as it seems, after his fall at the Big Freeze 4 slide yesterday.

Fagan slipped and fell when exiting the ice bath, suffering a serious hamstring injury. He says he is set to learn the full extent of the ailment today.

SEN Breakfast with Garry Lyon and Tim Watson can be heard Monday-Friday 6-9am, and you can subscribe to the podcast here.

“I’ve got to go get a scan at 1.45 this afternoon,” Fagan told SEN Breakfast.

“I couldn’t get one yesterday because of the public holiday. I’m pretty sore this morning, so I’m hopeful it’s not that bad, but there’s a chance that it is.

“It felt worse than any hamstring I’ve ever done in my life.

“There is every chance I might be following the trend and sitting on the bench for a few games.”

Fagan also added he got “a lot” of messages from his Brisbane players, saying they didn’t hide their amusement at the incident.

“Apparently they were all sitting in the players longue yesterday watching it on TV when it happened and there was a lot of laughter,” he said.

“It was pretty funny when you look at it, you can’t help but laugh at it.”
