Richmond CEO provides Dustin Martin update

2018-06-13T17:09+10:00

Richmond chief executive officer Brendon Gale says reigning Brownlow Medallist Dustin Martin is a good chance to line up against Geelong at the MCG on Sunday.

Martin missed last week’s loss to Port Adelaide due to a calf injury, opting to fly to New Zealand to see his father.

When asked on SEN’s KB and The Doc whether last year’s North Smith Medallist would return this weekend, Gale replied: “I would think so.

“Just judging from the remarks of Neil Balme from late last week, I just think we were a little bit more cautious and conservative.

“We just wanted to give him a week to sort of settle things down, I would be surprised if he doesn’t play, and I think that’s how it will pan out.

“He’s obviously a very important player to us."

The Richmond star will be a welcome addition as the reigning premiers look to get back to winning ways against the Cats in what is shaping as a blockbuster clash.
