St Kilda champion Nick Riewoldt’s savaging assessment of his former club is the best insight into their 2018 woes, according to Garry Lyon.
When asked how brutal the review of last weekend’s heavy loss to Sydney would have been, Riewoldt gave an honest view of what would have happened internally.

“It wouldn’t be very brutal at all in my opinion,” he told Fox Footy.
“I’ve got a different view on what brutal looks like compared to the current group and that was probably something that really frustrated me over my last few years at the club.”
The Saints are languishing in 16th position with just one win this season, with Lyon believing Riewoldt’s comments offer a rare insight into the four walls.
“I seriously believe this season, which has gone pear-shaped for St Kilda, at 20 past 11 last night, we got the best insight into where that footy club is at,” he told SEN Breakfast.
Melbourne AFLW star Daisy Pearce said it shows a soft side of the team, while Mike Sheahan thinks St Kilda has always been known as a happy club.
The Saints battle fellow strugglers Gold Coast tomorrow afternoon.
