Herald Sun journalist Sam Edmund has revealed Brisbane defender Harris Andrews may still be in hospital and has internal bleeding after the heavy knock he received from Jeremy Cameron.
“Some pretty sizable developments out of Brisbane this morning, now Harris Andrews was knocked flat out by Jeremy Cameron on Saturday,” Edmund told SEN Breakfast.
“He was admitted to hospital hours after the game despite looking okay. He came to and I guess his condition deteriorated.
“The Brisbane Lions released a statement yesterday saying he was expected to be released from hospital late yesterday, but we can tell you this morning that they’ve found internal bleeding in Harris Andrews.
“Now, you’re going to ask me where the internal bleeding is, at the moment the Lions are saying they don’t know where the internal bleeding is.
“That’s a serious, serious issue, bleeding on the brain, if that’s indeed what it is.
“They did say he was expected to leave hospital yesterday, there’s no confirmation that has happened.”
Former Essendon captain Tim Watson is hoping the bleeding is somewhere other than his head.
“He did land awkwardly with a thud so it could potentially be bleeding somewhere else,” Watson said.
“I don’t think I’ve seen anyone land with such force after receiving such a physical knock as well, it’s a two-pronged belting he received.”
Cameron is expected to be sanctioned by MRO Michael Christian and sent straight to the tribunal.
