Former Melbourne captain Garry Lyon thinks Sydney superstar Lance Franklin should avoid suspension for his hit on Richmond defender Alex Rance.
Franklin’s undisciplined act proved costly, as it overturned the free kick, meaning the Swans lost a shot at goal. The Tigers went down the other end and kicked a major themselves, at a vital time in the contest.

However, Lyon doesn’t believe the act from Franklin warrants a ban.
“Buddy with Alex Rance…he might have got him right in the windpipe, and if he did, is he in any trouble?” he told SEN Breakfast.
“I think a $1,200 (fine).”
"Maybe at risk of getting a week."

Richmond’s Nick Vlastuin will also face Match Review Officer scrutiny for his stray elbow to the head of Luke Parker, an incident Lyon does think will see him spent a stint on the sidelines.
“We are talking semantics…it’ll be one or two weeks,” he said.
