AFLW superstar Daisy Pearce has praised how Richmond players “feel” moments in games, whether it’s in good or bad circumstances.
Reece Conca suffered a graphic ankle injury early in the top of the table clash against Sydney, and in a touching tribute, all of the Tigers players embraced Conca when he was being stretched off the ground.

“To see the entire side go over and get around him was really touching,” Pearce told SEN Breakfast.
“I think what stood out to me is that footy convention in that situation, and I’ve been in that situation and seen it a lot of times, when someone goes down like that, footy convention is to not look at it, huddle over to one side, in the fear that it might distract you or take your mind off the job.
“The Tigers allow themselves to feel things.
“Whether it’s the horror of their teammate breaking his ankle, they allow themselves to feel it and go and do that, acknowledge it and then have the maturity to come back and get their mind back on the job.”
On the positive side, Jack Higgins’ half time speech, which caused the Richmond players to burst into laughter as they headed into their positions, is another indicator that shows how much the Tigers love one another.
“You could say something similar about the way Jack Higgins addressed them at halftime,” Pearce said.
“They sit there, have a giggle, feel that. Does it affect their football when they kick off? No, because they can just flip the switch.”
