Report: GWS forward Patton suffers suspected ACL injury

2018-07-05T13:43+10:00

SEN's Time On host Sam McClure has reported that Greater Western Sydney forward Jonathon Patton has gone down at training with a suspected ACL injury.

Patton has already suffered two knee reconstructions and according to McClure, he has torn his anterior cruciate ligament for a third time.

“Jonno Patton has gone down badly at training at Greater Western Sydney not long ago,” McClure told SEN Afternoons.

“The fears are that he has done an ACL for third time in his career.

“He is having scans as we speak. The mechanics of the fall I’m told are similar to that of an ACL.

“We know he has got form, he has had two ACL’s before.

“It’s a shocking run of luck for both he and also the club.”

The 25-year-old has played 89 games for the Giants.

UPDATE

GWS GM Wayne Campbell says "the initial diagnoses doesn't look positive" and that the club will find out the results of the scans tomorrow.

"He has the full support of everyone at the Giants during this challenging time," Campbell told GWS' official website.
