Kane Cornes is reporting that Geelong midfielder Tim Kelly is close to re-signing with the club and an announcement could come within the next fortnight.
Mature-age Kelly has been a standout performer in his first season with the Cats after they took him with the 24th pick in last year's draft, averaging 22 disposals, four clearances, four tackles and almost a goal per game.
There have been rumours that he is looking to return home to Perth, however former Port Adelaide player and SEN's Cornes is hearing that Kelly's re-signing is imminent.
“A little whisper that Tim Kelly is going to sign up with Geelong in about a fortnight,” said Cornes on SEN Mornings.
“There’s been some debate over his future but what I’m hearing, I think the club is very comfortable with where his contract status is.
“I’d be expecting an announcement to come inside the next fortnight.”
