Walker must get a week: Dal Santo

2018-07-13T06:45+10:00

Three-time All-Australian Nick Dal Santo says Adelaide captain Taylor Walker needs to cop a one-week suspension for his bump on Geelong’s Zach Tuohy.

Walker was reported for the incident, which saw him bypass the football and connect with Tuohy’s head in the first quarter.

The Cats defender did return to the ground, though, after passing the concussion test.

“I thought it was a fantastic hit but he has to get a week,” Dal Santo told SEN Breakfast.

“We can sit here and I don’t necessarily agree with the way that we adjudicate the game at the moment.

“He couldn’t tackle, there was the first part, he couldn’t tackle because Zach Tuohy did not have the football to warrant being tackled.

“He chose to bump, the bump hits him in the head, he has to get a week. It’s as simple as that. I don’t know how else we can break this down.

“I don’t think that’s necessarily worth a week, I think there’s acts on the football field that unfortunately occur and therefore other players get bumped in the head or wherever it may get them.”

The Crows travel to Brisbane to battle the Lions next Saturday night.
