Shane Crawford has stated on SEN Breakfast that he doesn’t believe former Essendon coach James Hird will get back into football.
Hird has not been involved in the AFL since he was sacked by Essendon in 2015 for his involvement in the infamous Essendon drug saga.
The two share a podcast 'Crawf and Hirdy' and Hawthorn champion Crawford said while Hird is thinking about a return, the incident may have taken too big of a toll on him and his family for him to want to come back.
“No I don’t think so,” said Crawford on whether Hird will get back into football.
“I think he’s been thinking about it though.
“I’m not sure what capacity but obviously he has a great love and obviously has a great knowledge about football.
“Obviously it was an extremely tough time and put great pressure on his family.
“I don’t know if he wants to do that again.”
