Two key Blues ruled out for the season with injury

2018-07-23T09:50+10:00

Carlton has confirmed duo Zac Fisher and Liam Jones will miss the remainder of the season after the injuries they suffered in the loss to Hawthorn.

Fisher has a crack in his left fibula after seemingly being tripped by Hawthorn defender Daniel Howe.

Jones meanwhile has strained a medial ligament in his right knee, stretching Carlton’s backline depth further.

Carlton Head of Football Andy McKay said the plan is for both to be ready to go come pre-season for next year.

"While clearly very disappointing, the club will support both Liam and Zac in their recoveries with the view that the pair will be ready and fit for the start of the upcoming pre-season campaign,” McKay said.

The two join Sam Docherty, Tom Williamson, Alex Silvagni, Andrew Phillips, David Cuningham, Jesse Glass-McCasker and Lachie Plowman as Blues ruled out for the year.
