AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan has responded to Daisy Pearce’s rant about the league’s handling of the AFLW fixture.
Melbourne star Pearce labelled AFLW a “gimmicky tournament” this morning on SEN Breakfast, in the wake of a Herald Sun report that stated the upcoming AFLW season will see each club play just six home-and-away games, despite the league expanding.

However, it was a claim McLachlan quickly watered down.
“No decision’s been made,” he told 3AW about the fixture.
“There’s a discussion about the format for AFLW next year.
“We’re making decisions with a 30-year view, not in year three.
