Melbourne sports fans are in for even more live sport than ever before and far greater choice with the launch of Pacific Star Network’s newest sports offering.

Pacific Star Network Managing Director and Crocmedia Chief Executive Officer Craig Hutchison confirmed the company’s second station in Melbourne would be known as SEN+ from Monday 13th August and feature almost exclusively sports content on 1377 AM.

He said the station would drive an additional live sports agenda to further leverage the company’s rights deals and content relationships with a variety of sporting codes.

“We have a passion for sport and feel there’s never too much of a good thing at SEN+,” Hutchison said.

“SEN+ will begin with dedicated calls of sports such as VFL football and will leverage our rights portfolio more aggressively, including becoming the dedicated home of national A-League matches in the summer.”

“All of the 1116 SEN on air favourites and their shows will also be showcased in different, and sometimes catch-up environments.”

Hutchison said the station would:

• Broadcast almost 100 national A League matches under the company’s FFA Master radio rights arrangement;

• Leverage additional Melbourne United content and broadcast matches after the company’s rec

ent joint major ownership stake; • Create additional cricket and racing content to further leverage those rights relationships.

Hutchison said community and women’s sport would continue to be focus areas and said he looked forward to engaging leagues and codes on additional broadcast opportunities.

“We are open for business on live sport and look forward to many non-traditional discussions. We are keen to give sports fans greater choice than ever before.

“And for those who feel they have live sport products that suit dedicated audiences, we look forward to engaging them.”
