Former AFL club captains Tim Watson and Garry Lyon disagree about whether Richmond should rest players in tomorrow’s game against Gold Coast.
The Tigers have boosted their squad for the clash, bringing back premiership players Dion Prestia, Bachar Houli, Nathan Broad and Jack Graham.
However, with another September run looming for Richmond, Watson has pondered if Damien Hardwick should consider resting some sore bodies against the lowly Suns.

“They should be resting blokes,” Watson told SEN Breakfast.
“I think they should. These blokes have played every game for Richmond this year – Jack Riewoldt, Shane Edwards, Jayden Short, Alex Rance and Kane Lambert.
“Dustin Martin and Trent Cotchin have only missed one game.
“Their best players have actually played (nearly) every game this year.
“They need a spell before the finals.”
Lyon believes that strategy is far too risky.
“It’s dangerous,” he said.
“They thrive on the work. Don’t start flirting with your form three weeks out.
“They’re going to have a week off in three weeks. You want to give them two weeks off in three weeks?
“It’s a danger about interrupting and upsetting the way they’ve had such great success over the last two years.”
