Howe plays down suggestions of leg fracture

2018-08-10T14:12+10:00

Collingwood’s Jeremy Howe says his troublesome corkie is “frustrating”, as the high-flying defender is set to miss another game for the Pies.

Howe won’t line-up in tomorrow night’s clash with Brisbane, and while conceding it is an annoying ailment, the 28-year-old has allayed fears he has suffered a serious injury.

“That’s not the case,” Howe told SEN Afternoons, when asked if he may have suffered a fracture.

“It’s not as far as I know, unless the doctors are hiding something from me.

“It’s just a real deep cork that hasn’t absorbed as well as we would have hoped.

“It kind of restricts the movement within my leg and I can’t run and it is my kicking leg.

“Without those two attributes, it might be a bit difficult to take the field on the weekend.

“It’s obviously just one of those ones that still hasn’t come up.

“I haven’t had the ability to even train at the moment.

“To say I can put my hand up for selection without training was obviously just a no-brainer to not play.

“It’s frustrating because it’s one of those ones where I feel like it should have recovered by now but it just hasn’t.”
