Hawks being “aggressive” in Lynch pursuit

2018-08-17T08:15+10:00

Hawthorn is making an “aggressive” push to acquire the services of Gold Coast forward Tom Lynch, according to Tim Watson.

Lynch will join one of the Hawks, Richmond or Collingwood, after he made his intentions known he wants to depart the fledging Suns.

“I’m hearing that they (Hawthorn) are very aggressive in their pursuit of Tom Lynch and what they potentially might offer,” Watson told SEN Breakfast.

“They believe that might influence the Gold Coast Suns, who may be able to influence Tom Lynch as to where he should go, if in fact he believes it is one of those three clubs.

“I think it would have to be maybe a couple of players as well. I’m hearing they are being aggressive in this space.”

The Herald Sun’s Sam Edmund says Hawks coach Alastair Clarkson is a key piece in the Hawks’ pitch to sign Lynch.

“What I’ve been told about Hawthorn is Alastair Clarkson will not let it go,” Edmund said.

“In fact, he is fanatical. He is like a dog with a bone. He thinks he is right in there.”
